governor "Central" The Ambassador of Indonesia discusses strengthening the partnership in digital financial innovation

ABU DHABI, 26 JULY / WAM / His Excellency Khalid Mohammed Al Amma, Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, received at the headquarters of the Central Bank in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Yuda Nugraha, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the country, in the presence of Their Excellencies the Governor’s Assistants and a number of senior officials from both sides.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen the existing financial and banking relations between the UAE and the Republic of Indonesia, and reviewed areas of common interest in a way that contributes to supporting economic growth and strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

The two sides discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation aimed at linking payment systems and facilitating the implementation of cross-border payments through advanced solutions characterized by speed, efficiency, transparency and low cost, in line with the comprehensive development goals of the two countries.

The two parties discussed mechanisms to accelerate the pace of innovation in the field of digital financial services, to support the growing trade and investment flows between the UAE and the Republic of Indonesia.

His Excellency Khaled Mohammed Al-Amaa said: “In line with the vision of the wise leadership to consolidate the leading position of the UAE as a global financial center, and as an embodiment of the depth of the strategic ties between the UAE and Indonesia, we at the Central Bank of the UAE are committed to consolidating existing cooperation with the Republic of Indonesia in the financial and banking fields, and developing innovative and secure digital payment solutions that contribute to enhancing the flexibility of the economy and expanding the scope of trade exchanges and investments.”

For his part, His Excellency Yuda Nograha praised the development achieved by the UAE in the field of digital payments infrastructure, stressing that the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Indonesia constitutes a favorable opportunity to deepen the bonds of cooperation between the central banks of the two countries.

He expressed his hope that the use of local currencies in settling intra-transactions, enhancing the linkage of cross-border payment systems, and continuing the exchange of experiences and knowledge will contribute to supporting trade and investment between the two sides, and consolidating the comprehensive strategic partnership between the UAE and his country.
