Emirates Airlines and Crypto.com offer customers a new payment option when booking flights

Emirates Airlines officially launched the Crypto.com Pay service, allowing its customers to use the digital payment solution when booking their flights through the Emirates website and application.
Customers who have an account with Crypto.com when booking through emirates.com or the Emirates app can now choose the Crypto.com Pay™ service as a means of payment when completing the booking process, as payments are processed securely and in accordance with regulatory standards in force in the United Arab Emirates. Crypto.com Pay™ is currently available to eligible users in the UAE for bookings priced and settled in UAE Dirhams.
The launch of the service comes as a culmination of the partnership announced between Emirates Airlines and Crypto.com in July 2025, which represented the signing of a memorandum of understanding to explore the integration of the Crypto.com Pay™ service into the carrier’s digital payment systems.
Vice President and Chief Commercial Operations Officer at Emirates Airlines, Adnan Kazim, said: “The launch of this service embodies Emirates Airlines’ commitment to expanding customer options and giving them greater flexibility in the way they pay for their trips, in line with the rapid transformations in payment patterns and digital behavior of travelers. Our customers today, especially the younger generations who are more interactive with technology, expect a more flexible and smooth travel experience, starting from the moment of planning and booking via mobile phone, and extending to every point of contact with the carrier.”
He added: “The transition of our partnership with Crypto.com from the signing stage to the actual launch of the service within a year reflects the clarity of vision and speed of implementation of the work teams on both sides. It also embodies the vital role of the advanced regulatory environment in the UAE and Dubai, which allows innovation to be transformed into practical solutions that enhance customer experience, and supports the country’s position as a leading global center in financial technology and the digital economy.”
President and COO of Crypto.com, Eric Anziani, said: “The collaboration with Emirates Airlines represents an important step for Crypto.com and our Pay service, which is known for its ease of use and seamless integration. This partnership reflects the UAE’s pioneering approach to supporting innovation, and we are proud to support Emirates in adopting digital payments solutions.”
Mohammed Al-Haki, President and General Manager of the region at Crypto.com, said: “This launch represents a historic milestone for both Crypto.com and Emirates Airlines, and embodies the result of months of work and joint coordination to transform the memorandum of understanding that we signed last year into a tangible reality that benefits customers today. From day one, our focus has been on implementing this project in accordance with the highest regulatory and technical standards, and in close cooperation with Emirates Airlines and regulatory authorities in the UAE, so that customers can now benefit from a secure and seamless digital payment experience when booking a reservation.” “This achievement confirms the UAE’s position as a leading global center for innovation and financial technology, and reflects its ability to transform ambitious visions into practical solutions that support the goals of the Dubai Cashless Strategy and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.”
This integration is powered by Crypto.com’s Dubai entity, which is the first Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) to obtain a Stored Value Facilities (SVF) license from the UAE Central Bank, and operates within the regulatory framework of this license.
The service is used when customers reach the payment stage while booking their flights. Crypto.com Pay™ will appear as one of the payment options on the emirates.com website and the Emirates app. When booking through the Emirates app, the customer is transferred to the Crypto.com app to complete the payment process from his digital wallet, and is then automatically returned to the Emirates app to receive the booking confirmation and e-ticket. When booking via the emirates.com website, the customer chooses Crypto.com Pay™ when paying, then scans the QR code. (QR Code) shown on the booking page using the Crypto.com app and agreeing to the payment. After completing the process, the reservation confirmation and e-ticket will be issued directly.
This launch supports Dubai’s cashless strategy within the framework of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to transform 90% of the total financial transactions in the government and private sectors into digital transactions by the end of 2026. It also comes as a continuation of the partnership that Emirates concluded with Dubai Financial last year to enhance digital payments, and comes in the wake of Crypto.com’s partnership with Dubai Financial in Dubai to enable digital payments for government services.
Founded in 2016, Crypto.com is trusted by millions of users around the world and is considered one of the world’s leading companies in the fields of regulatory compliance, security and privacy. Its vision is “Cryptocurrency in Every Wallet™,” and it is committed to accelerating the adoption of cryptocurrencies through innovation and development of new use cases, including prediction markets and real-world tokenized assets.
