Government changes in Greenland.. "Igidi" Leading external and mineral resources
Prime Minister Tuesday became Minister of Foreign Affairs enjoys self-rule, which the American administration covets.
This decision comes a month after the resignation of his predecessor, Viviane Motzfeldt, following the withdrawal of her party from the ruling coalition in Greenland.
Greenland Parliament
At the opening of its spring session, the Greenland Parliament adopted the new government formation.
Moti Egede was the leader of the Greenland Party. "Atagatigate" (IA) served as Prime Minister between the years 2021 and 2025, and during that period he confronted Donald Trump and his attempts to control the vast island, repeatedly stressing that the territory "Not for sale"
Along with foreign affairs, Egede will also oversee mineral resources and industry.
Unannounced Discussions
Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Fridrik Nielsen has taken over as foreign minister temporarily amid escalating tensions with the United States.
A task force including Greenland, Denmark and the United States was formed in January to discuss US concerns about the autonomous Danish region, but the details of these discussions have not been made public.
