"ADNOC Gas" Awarded a contract to design gas processing facilities for a project "Gas cap in Bab field"

Abu Dhabi, 4 December / WAM / ADNOC Gas Company PLC “ADNOC Gas” announced today the award of a contract for theoretical and preliminary engineering design services for gas processing facilities in the “Gas Cap in Bab Field” project to Worley Engineering Private Limited.
Thanks to the new facilities, the company will be able to increase its gas processing capacity by 20%, or more than 1.8 billion standard cubic feet per day, while the final investment decision is expected to be taken in 2026.
The gas processing facilities will be designed to scale up the production of natural gas liquids, condensate, sales gas, as well as sulfur.
The Bab Field Gas Cap project is part of ADNOC’s main integrated gas strategy, and greatly supports gas self-sufficiency efforts in the country.
Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Abri, CEO of ADNOC Gas, said that today’s announcement is an important step in advancing the project, which allows the company to significantly increase its gas processing capacity, generate additional revenues, and enhance the company’s position as a global gas supplier.
He pointed out the use of the latest gas processing technologies in this ambitious project, which will contribute significantly to the country’s efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in this resource, expressing his happiness with the advanced stages that the project has reached.
Initial designs will include the development of gas processing and conditioning units, sour gas recovery units, drying units, sulfur recovery units, natural gas liquids recovery units, in addition to carbon recapture facilities.
It will also include the construction of injection facilities and associated facilities, in addition to the design of new pipelines and routes to transport liquefied sulfur to the Habshan sulfur granulation station.
It is noteworthy that the new facilities will be supplied with hydrocarbons through the developed Bab field, while ADNOC, after advanced studies to develop the field and taking advantage of the latest technologies, was able to produce oil and gas in the Bab field simultaneously with a potential capacity of 1.5 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day, and 80 One million barrels per day of condensate.
