The forum will be held in the presence of Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Dinah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, with the support of the Supreme Council for the Environment. This year’s edition of the Forum focuses on “mobilizing action and investment for climate resilience and energy.”
Alba’s partnership and cooperation with the forum for the second year in a row confirms its leadership in the field of sustainability and its commitment to reducing carbon emissions, in line with the Kingdom’s goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2060. Alba is keen on its pioneering role in the field of sustainable development, through the roadmap. The comprehensive environmental, social and governance initiative it launched in 2022 focuses on six strategic priorities, including decarbonisation, green energy and the circular economy. The company has also invested significantly in many environmental, sustainable, social and economic development projects that have had a positive impact on society.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Ali Al Baqali, CEO of Alba, said: “As a global leader in aluminum production, we are committed today to making decisions that will pave the way for a better future.” Al Baqali added: “Our participation in the Middle East Sustainability Forum reflects our firm commitment to promoting sustainable practices, and through this platform, we look forward to discussing these aspects with industry leaders and experts to drive impactful solutions that will shape the sustainable future of Bahrain and the region.”
In turn, Ms. Leela Danish, CEO of FinMark Communications, founder and organizer of the forum, said: “We are pleased to welcome Alba as a partner in the forum. This partnership comes within the framework of Alba’s commitment to sustainable practices and its leadership in reducing carbon emissions is consistent with our mission to enhance business and cooperation across… All industries, to achieve regional zero neutrality goals.” “Alba’s participation will once again enrich our discussions and will be based on concrete real-world examples of how innovative companies are addressing climate challenges,” Danish added.
The forum’s agenda for 2025 includes central topics aimed at strengthening the region’s efforts to move towards carbon neutrality, including financing strategies, policy developments, technological progress, and other efforts.
The two-day event will include keynotes, panel discussions, and practical workshops aimed at raising awareness, strengthening collaboration, and stimulating action and investment towards climate resilience and regional energy.
