The Red Sea Film Festival will open its fourth session tomorrow, Thursday, December 5, and the film (East 12) by director Hala Al-Qusi will participate in this session. As part of the (New Visions) program
 
the film is scheduled to be shown at the festival on December 6 and 8, where the Red Sea Film Festival will witness the screening. The first Arab film after it was shown for the first time at the Directors’ Bi-Month event in the 77th edition of the Cannes International Film Festival. The screening will be in the presence of director Hala Al-Qusi. And the director of photography  
"Abdel Salam Musa" The film is the seventh collaboration between them and the third production by their company (Noqta for Artistic Production) after the feature film (Cactus Flower) 2017 and the short film (I Don’t Forget the Sea) 2020

The movie "East 12" For the quality of black comedy, its events take place within a framework of satirical fantasy in a closed world outside of time. It was filmed in 22 days in Cairo and Al-Quseir using cinematic raw material. It is the first film to be filmed in this way in more than ten years. The film was developed in the Cinema City laboratories and was completed. It was digitally scanned in the restoration department in Media Production City, and the final sound work was done in Dolby Atmos Studio in Production City. Media.
 
It is noteworthy that Hala Al-Qusi is a visual artist and director who works in Egypt and the Netherlands and has produced a number of short films that were shown at international festivals and exhibitions. East 12 is her second feature film. Her first film, Cactus Flower, premiered in the Rotterdam International Film Festival competition and won the Best Actress Award at the Dubai International Film Festival, the Special Jury Award at the Aswan Women’s Film Festival, the Special Jury Award at the National Film Festival, and the Best Actress Award.
