92.5 billion dirhams in salaries and benefits for government employees in 9 months

Employees working in the federal and local government sector in the UAE received compensation, salaries and benefits worth 92.5 billion dirhams, during the first nine months of the current year 2024, compared to 85.9 billion dirhams during the same period last year, an increase of 6.6 billion dirhams, equivalent to a growth of 7.7%, according to government finance statistics for the UAE issued yesterday by the Ministry of Finance, and including federal statistics in addition to them. Its counterpart at the local level for each of the seven emirates of the country.

For nearly two years, salary levels, both at the government and private levels, have been steadily increasing, supported by increased employment and notable economic activity.

The data showed that the total combined government expenditures during the first three quarters of this year amounted to 287.9 ​​billion dirhams, while revenues in the same period recorded 404.9 billion dirhams.

The proceeds of taxes applied in the country contributed the largest share of revenues, reaching 272.6 billion dirhams during the first nine months of this year, compared to 223.3 billion dirhams during the same period last year, an increase of 49.3 billion dirhams, equivalent to a growth of 22%. .
