7.12 billion dirhams in Dubai Duty Free sales in 11 months

Dubai Duty Free announced recording sales worth $1.94 billion (about 7.12 billion dirhams), from the beginning of this year until the end of November 2024, confirming that it is moving forward towards achieving its goal of exceeding its total annual sales of two billion dollars by the end of the year.
A statement by Dubai Duty Free added that its sales recorded $205.67 million in November alone, making it the fifth best month ever in terms of performance, compared to the records recorded by the market in December of each year, which is the month that coincides with its celebration of the anniversary of its founding, where sales are Usually high.
She pointed out that last November 30 set a record for daily sales this year at $8.46 million, while sales on November 29 achieved the third highest level for the year with sales amounting to $8.24 million.
Commenting on this strong performance, Dubai Duty Free CEO, Ramesh Kidambi, said: “We are pleased with the strong performance of November 2024 sales, which was achieved in the face of some challenges, such as a decline in sales in stores of major fashion brands compared to last year, and renovation projects in lounge stores ( Arrivals) via all three airport stations.
He added: “Most of our focus has been on enhancing sales in recent months, and we are satisfied with the great efforts made to reduce the gap between the expected spending per passenger and the actual spending.”
Kidambi continued: “We look forward to achieving more achievements this December, thanks to the tireless efforts made by all members of the work team, and our expectations are strong, with the arrival of the busy holiday season, to bring the curtain down on 2024 with high numbers of annual sales.”
According to a Dubai Duty Free statement, perfumes, tobacco products, gold, and electronics topped the list of the four best-selling commodities until November 2024 (11 months), as perfumes recorded $362 million, an increase of 10% compared to 2023, followed by cigarettes and tobacco products in the center. Second, it rose by 8%, recording $200.52 million, while gold sales increased by 2% compared to last year, reaching $194.57. million dollars, and electronics came in fourth place after achieving sales of 134 million dollars.
Dubai Duty Free confirmed that it is preparing to welcome a season full of events and holidays this December, including the 41st anniversary of the founding of the market on December 20, during which Dubai Duty Free will launch a valuable discount offer of up to 25% on a wide range of goods and products in… Its stores and online, before Christmas.
