In the presence of world stars… details of the opening of the Red Sea Film Festival
On Thursday evening, in Culture Square in the historic Jeddah area, the activities of the fourth session of the Red Sea International Film Festival 2024 kicked off, under the slogan “Cinema has a new home,” which continues until December 14.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of an elite group of movie stars, directors and filmmakers from around the world, in addition to the world premiere of the joint Saudi-Egyptian film “Dhi”, in the presence of the main cast.

Red Sea Film Festival
The festival offers a rich program that includes dialogue seminars, training workshops, and film screenings, as part of its vision to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a global destination for the film industry, and to support local, regional and international talents.
The Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Red Sea Film Foundation, Jumana Al-Rashed, confirmed the Foundation’s endeavor to shed light on Arab cinema and honor the most prominent local and international artists, noting that the current session includes 122 projects from 85 countries in 49 languages.

Arab cinematic creativity
For his part, the acting CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, Mohammed bin Ayed Asiri, explained that the screening of the film “Dhi” embodies the festival’s commitment to supporting Arab cinematic creativity, indicating that the festival will witness various activities that combine cinematic programs and interactive discussions.

The ceremony included honoring a group of stars, including British actress Emily Blunt, Egyptian actress Mona Zaki, and Indian cinema icon Amer Khan, in addition to a special award for international star Vin Diesel in appreciation of his artistic career.

The Red Sea International Film Competition jury is headed by international director Spike Lee, with the participation of an elite group of international creatives.
