The Arab League is following with concern reports about the bombing of the Zamzam camp for displaced people in Darfur

The League of Arab States is following with great concern the reports regarding the indiscriminate bombing of the Zamzam camp for displaced persons in North Darfur state and the resulting civilian deaths and injuries, which represents a clear violation of international humanitarian law.

In this context, an official source in the General Secretariat expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured, stressing the university’s keenness to implement the obligations of the Jeddah Declaration signed on 11 May 2024 AD and its commitment to protecting civilians and the necessity of reaching a ceasefire.
The source reaffirmed the university’s firm position in supporting Sudan’s stability and preserving its unity, sovereignty and independence.
