Minister of Culture: The UAE is a nurturing environment for art and creativity
Abu Dhabi, December 6 / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, said that the country’s wise leadership is keen to support and enhance the artistic and cultural movement by all means that guarantee its advancement, and that the issuance of a federal decree law regarding empowering the arts sector came to reflect the future outlook of the government. The state’s great interest in the artistic sector represents a strategic step towards establishing a unified legislative umbrella and public policies to regulate the activities of artistic institutions and enhance the incubating environment for arts and creativity.
He added that this trend also supports encouraging the artistic production of creative individuals and attracting talented people and artists from all over the world.
His Excellency added that the Ministry of Culture is working to translate national visions and strategies related to culture, arts and the creative economy into reality, because of their sustainable impact on cultural and artistic work, pointing to the importance of this law and its positive repercussions on the arts sector, artistic institutions, and creators themselves, in addition to Its important role in stimulating the creative industries economy, which is considered a tributary to the national economy.
He said that through this law, an integrated system of government incentives and facilities will be provided that contributes to empowering creative individuals, which enhances the country’s cultural and creative status.
His Excellency stressed that the arts sector plays a pivotal role in developing societies at all levels, and contributes to strengthening national and intellectual identity, and enhancing cultural mobility, which reflects positively on the social, economic, and educational environment, and that the law came from this standpoint, to serve government directions aimed at To build an integrated cultural system that supports creativity and opens new horizons for the advancement of the artistic and cultural sector in the country.
