The UAE participates in the resumed thirty-third session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

The United Arab Emirates, represented by the Ministry of Interior, participated in the resumed thirty-third session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, held at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna, as the country hosts the fifteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention scheduled to be held in (2026).
During the speech presented by the Ministry of Interior, it was stressed that the United Arab Emirates is committed to supporting regional and international cooperation and action, to achieve the common goal of peace and security and consolidating the foundations of justice. Priority issues were also addressed, including combating the illicit drug trade, and combating money laundering and terrorist financing crimes. Protecting children from online sexual exploitation, and combating environmental crimes that affect the climate.
Reference was also made to the pioneering efforts of the United Arab Emirates in confronting crime, as the country, under the guidance of the wise leadership, chaired a high-level event at the twenty-ninth Conference of the Parties. (COP29) In partnership with the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime within the International Law Enforcement Initiative for Climate (I2LEC) To combat environmental crimes, and other state contributions to strengthening the international cooperation system.
