“A rock formation” that escalates the tension between China and the Philippines

China reported that six Filipinos reached a small rock formation, which both countries claim to be owned by the South China Sea, days after the publication of pictures showing the Chinese Coast Guard officers raising the Chinese flag on a group of sandy tapes itself.
A statement issued by the Chinese Coast Guard described the Filipino designing on the island, the day before yesterday, as “illegal”, and said that the Chinese officers had come to the beach “to conduct a field investigation and take executive measures.”
For his part, a Filipino statement stated that a team on rubber boats had come to the group of the three sandy tapes, which form the island of Sandy, known in the Chinese as the Tishian reefs. AFP
