A driver "McLaren" In the front row at the start of the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix

Abu Dhabi, 7 December / WAM / McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, shined in the qualifying session for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi today and reserved the first row on the starting line for the race that will be held tomorrow, Sunday.
As for world champion Max Verstappen, he missed the opportunity to start from the first row at the Yas Marina Circuit for the fifth time in a row, starting the final race of the season from fifth place.
Briton Norris topped the qualifying trials, achieving the fastest start with a time of 1:22.595 minutes, ahead of his Australian colleague Piastri, who recorded a time of 1:22.804 minutes, which enhanced the team’s chances of clinching the constructors’ championship title.
Spanish driver Carlos Sainz, a Ferrari driver, came in third place, and he and his team are seeking to make up for the 21-point difference to win the constructors’ title.
As the qualifying session reached its final minutes, the name of the leader changed several times.
The qualifying trials witnessed other surprises, as Lewis Hamilton was forced to withdraw from the first round after his car was damaged due to colliding with a barrier, starting the race on Sunday from 18th place. Charles Leclerc’s result in the second round was also canceled after he crossed the track limits at the first turn.
