Announcing the winners of a competition "Khalifa Entrepreneurship Fund"

Abu Dhabi, 9 December / WAM / The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development announced the winners of the Khalifa Fund for Entrepreneurship Competition, which celebrates the achievements of entrepreneurs who lead innovation in the priority sectors of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In its first edition, the competition highlighted finding revolutionary solutions in three sectors: These are “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence”, “Agricultural and Water Technology, the Bio-Sector and Healthcare”.

The competition aimed to attract talented entrepreneurs and innovative small and medium-sized companies, enable them to make a tangible change with measurable impact, and drive sustainable economic growth.

The winning candidates in the competition were selected and honored during the closing ceremony held within the activities of the first session of Abu Dhabi Business Week, after a careful evaluation of the most prominent unique nominated solutions, and a study of their applicability on the ground, and their ability to overcome complex challenges.

In the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence category, Viai Technology won for its revolutionary smart glasses, which rely on artificial intelligence to improve athletes’ performance and support appropriate decision-making during training and competitions. As for the Agricultural and Water Technology category, the win went to Havigo Company Limited, for its coal technology idea. Al-Hajri’s innovative “Biochar” technology contributes to addressing the challenges of climate change and food security by transforming desert lands into fertile agricultural lands through the process of carbon sequestration and soil renewal.

In the vital sector and health care category, Nutrigenics Care won for the nutritional platform it created based on artificial intelligence, which provides advanced health solutions by analyzing personal needs according to the individual’s condition, and tools for immediate interaction and response.

The winners of the Khalifa Entrepreneurship Fund competition will receive financial support to develop and grow their projects, and will also have access to mentorship programs, resources and tools that help them scale their solutions.

The “Entrepreneurship Competition” was one of the most prominent events of Abu Dhabi Business Week, and allowed participants to expand their network of relationships and knowledge with experts and investors, which would enhance the growth of their businesses and projects and their spread in the competitive market, and their vital contribution to the prosperity of the entrepreneurship system in Abu Dhabi.

Through these initiatives, Khalifa Fund continues its pioneering role in spreading the culture of entrepreneurship and encouraging innovative ideas within the small and medium enterprises ecosystem.
