"Khalifa Educational ": Introducing the Artificial Intelligence category enhances the quality of education
Abu Dhabi, 30 July / WAM / The General Secretariat of the Khalifa Educational Award confirmed that the launch of the “Innovation and Artificial Intelligence in Education” category within its twentieth session for the year 2026/2027 represents a qualitative addition to the fields and categories presented in this session, as this category is considered one of the basic pillars on which the award relies in developing its mission and objectives in a sustainable manner, keeping pace with the technical and scientific development witnessed by the education sector and employing advanced technology and artificial intelligence in developing the learning environment in a way that reflects Its positive impact on various elements of the educational process.
Hamid Al-Hooti, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Educational Award, said that the award, as one of the institutions of the “Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation,” is keen to measure the positive impact that results from winning it by institutions and individuals at all local, Arab and international levels, as this impact is considered one of the basic axes in evaluating all the work of the candidates for the fields and categories presented in the award during this session.
He explained that all the fields and categories proposed for the current session of the award aim to spread excellence in the educational field at all local, Arab and international levels. The award in this session presented 10 fields distributed over 18 categories, including the category of innovation and artificial intelligence in education. The introduction of this category came to meet the needs of the educational field and keep pace with the development witnessed by the education system in all its stages. This category is concerned with honoring initiatives and projects that provide innovative educational solutions that contribute to the development of the teaching and learning system, by employing… The latest digital technologies and artificial intelligence, which enhances the quality of education, improves teaching and evaluation methods, improves learning outcomes, and raises the efficiency of educational institutions.
He added that the category targets individuals, work teams, institutions and students, in addition to educational artificial intelligence projects, which have proven through practical application over the last three years their ability to create a sustainable educational impact supported by evidence and measurable performance indicators. The project must stem from original innovation and the intellectual and educational contribution of the candidate, and with commitment to the principles of responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence, including protecting privacy, respecting intellectual property, ensuring justice and transparency, and maintaining academic integrity.
Al-Hooti said that adding a new category concerned with artificial intelligence projects and their applications achieves added value compared to traditional practices, and contributes to enhancing teaching, learning and the educational system, pointing out that the criteria for the evaluation process have been updated to include a set of main criteria, which are: innovation and originality, clarity of vision and goals, quality of design and implementation, documented educational impact, efficiency of employing artificial intelligence and technical innovation, commitment to artificial intelligence ethics and governance, sustainability and scalability, in addition to the effectiveness of evaluation, follow-up and continuous improvement.
He explained that the launch of this category comes in line with the UAE’s vision to consolidate its global position in the fields of education and artificial intelligence, by encouraging innovation, promoting a culture of excellence, and stimulating the development of pioneering educational solutions that create a sustainable impact on educational institutions and society, and contribute to building a more efficient, flexible, and future-ready educational system.
Hamid Al-Hooti pointed out that the award receives all applications from candidates through the electronic application system, and a specialized team is responsible for responding to inquiries and providing the necessary technical support to candidates from inside and outside the country. Applications continue to be accepted until December 31.
