المملكة: Jazan.. 5 violators were arrested for smuggling 270 kilograms of the narcotic qat

The border guards’ ground patrols in the Al-Arda sector in the Jazan region arrested (5) violators of the border security system of Yemeni nationality, for smuggling (270) kilograms of the Qat plant. The initial legal procedures were completed against them, and they and the seized items were handed over to the competent authority.

The Special Forces for Environmental Security also arrested a citizen who violated the environmental regulations, for polluting the environment and damaging the soil by unloading concrete materials in the Eastern Region. Legal procedures were applied against him, and he was referred to the competent authorities. The forces explained that the penalty for engaging in an activity or act that directly or indirectly leads to harming or polluting the soil or negatively affecting its use or destroying its natural properties is a fine of up to (10) million riyals.

It urged the security authorities to report any cases that represent an attack on the environment or wildlife, or any information available to citizens and residents about any activities related to drug smuggling or drug promotion, by calling the numbers (911) in the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh, and Al-Sharqiyah, and ( 999) in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions, and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control’s reporting number (995), and via email.
