Urgent.. 28 years since the passing of a creator from the era of fine art
Today is Monday the anniversary of the death of the artist Karam Motawa, an exceptional talent and a symbol of the golden period in Egyptian theater in the sixties and a pioneer of experimentation in Arab theatre, who passed away on December 9, 1956.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Ain Shams University, graduated from the Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1956, and joined the popular theater and directed the play “Shaab” God’s Chosen One Ali Ahmed Bakathir also participated in the play “Behind the Horizon” Eugene.
He completed his theater studies in Rome, and began visiting theaters around the world to gain experience and skills from them. He returned to Egypt after a long journey and presented one of his greatest plays, which is also a sign of his Signs of theater in Egypt, which is the play “Al-Farafir”.
After that, he presented many successful theatrical performances, whether in acting, directing, or both, and he also taught theater. For many generations who later became stars in the skies of theater and art, Mutawa’s success was not limited to the theater only, but he presented works in cinema and television. One of his most prominent cinematic works was the movie Sayed Darwish, in which he presented the character of Darwish with utmost genius and co-starred with the late star Hind Rostom. But despite his success in some cinematic experiments, his love for theater overwhelmed him and he decided to stay away from cinema for nearly twenty years to devote himself to theatre, whether in directing, acting or teaching. He also assumed the position of head of the theater’s artistic house, and one of his television series is " Don’t extinguish the sun And “patience in navigation” And “Al-Ansar” and “A Woman and Three Faces” And “Arabesque” and “Abu Al-Banat” “Pardis” and “Al-Haramlik” and a communication from the Public Prosecutor “and “Between Fact and Fiction” And “The Road to Jerusalem” And “My Neighbors Without Chains”.
And among his other plays are “ Isis" Directed by and written by Tawfiq Al-Hakim and “Diwan Al-Baqar” Directed by and written by writer Abu Al-Ala Al-Salamouni, and “727” It is one of the few plays in which the artist Mahmoud Abdel Aziz and “Rosewood” acted. And "the question" With Suheir Al Morshedy, directed by Kamal Yassin, and “Oedipus” And “Hamlet” And "The World of Pianola" Directed by him.
He received the First Class Medal of Arts from the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser. He was also honored at the Carthage Festival and left his mark in all the fields in which he worked, from theater to… Cinema and television.
