المملكة: On the blue track… two new stations in the Riyadh Metro enter service today
This announcement comes within the plan to launch the Riyadh Metro project, which includes 85 stations, designed according to the latest engineering standards to represent an architectural masterpiece and a multi-use destination that combines beauty and functionality.
The metro stations vary between 34 overhead stations, 4 ground-level stations, and 47 underground stations.
The four main stations form meeting points for the various metro lines and the public transport bus network, which enhances the efficiency of movement throughout the capital. These stations also provide integrated services for travelers, including parking, customer services, and ticket sales outlets, in addition to a group of shops and restaurants, thus forming integrated urban centers.
It is noteworthy that the Riyadh Metro project consists of 6 tracks, 3 of which have been operated so far, namely: The first track, the “Blue Line”,: Olaya – Batha axis. Fourth track “Yellow Line”: King Khalid International Airport Road axis. The sixth route “Purple Line”: the axis of Abdul Rahman bin Awf Road – Sheikh Hassan bin Hussein bin Ali Road.

Plans to prevent congestion in the Riyadh Metro
In a related context, the Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh has developed elaborate plans to prevent congestion at stations and ensure the smooth flow of passenger traffic.
The plan includes allocating “train ambassadors” at all stations, who are employees trained to provide the best services to passengers, from welcoming them, to purchasing tickets, and until leaving the station.
The role of “train ambassadors” is not limited to that, but extends to helping people with disabilities and the elderly, solving customer problems, providing information and guidance, in addition to supervising the evacuation of the train when necessary, responding to accidents and providing first aid.
