The President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Samir Nass, confirmed that the strategic partnership agreement with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) represents the beginning of a new era for the Bahrain Chamber towards an advanced stage of international cooperation, stressing that the agreement will contribute to enhancing support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), by harnessing the potential of digital trade. Facilitating access to finance, knowledge and capacity building, allowing companies of different sizes and sectors to expand into global markets.

In a prominent step aimed at promoting global trade and enhancing economic cooperation, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, headed by Samir Nass, signed the strategic partnership agreement yesterday at the headquarters of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, on the sidelines of participation in the fifth economic summit between France and the Arab countries. It aims to develop a comprehensive framework for joint projects that focus on key areas, including promoting international trade, supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and facilitating knowledge exchange and multilateral cooperation among member states.

Nass expressed his pride in the partnership with the International Chamber of Commerce, an organization with a global influence extending to more than 170 countries, noting that this cooperation would enhance mutual understanding of strategic priorities and activities between the parties, and facilitate access to global markets, stressing the expected positive impact of this. The partnership involves both organizations and their stakeholders.

He added that the agreement will allow joint work at various levels, including leadership, senior management and the operational level, to enhance the exchange of knowledge and increase cooperation between the two sides, stressing that this strategic partnership comes in line with the vision, mission and values ​​that govern the work of both the International Chamber of Commerce and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

For his part, First Vice President of the Chamber, Khaled Najibi, affirmed his confidence that this agreement will form the basis for high-level cooperation between the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and the International Chamber of Commerce, adding that the agreement represents a commitment to building already existing relationships and strengthening efforts to achieve common goals, stressing the importance of these partnerships in exchanging Knowledge, implementation of capacity building initiatives, and expansion of benefits to both business communities.

In turn, a member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Center for the Settlement of Commercial Disputes, Bassem Al-Saie, said that the signing of the agreement reflects the Bahrain Chamber’s commitment to promoting arbitration and mediation as effective tools for resolving commercial disputes, indicating that this cooperation represents an extension of the efforts of the Center for the Settlement of Commercial Disputes in the Chamber. Bahrain, which contributes to strengthening its role at the international level.

Al-Saei added that the agreement will provide a framework to enhance the exchange of experiences and develop best practices in the field of dispute resolution, with a focus on providing innovative and quick solutions to the commercial community, explaining that this partnership will contribute to improving the business environment and enhancing confidence among investors, which will reflect positively on the Bahraini economy and the Kingdom’s position. As a regional and global center for resolving commercial disputes.

For his part, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce Network, Julian Cassum, who signed the agreement on behalf of the Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce, John Denton, said: “This agreement represents a milestone in strengthening cooperation between the Bahrain Chamber and the International Chamber of Commerce, and aims to build the capabilities of the National Committee.” The International Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain and encourage the Bahraini private sector to exploit economic opportunities by increasing its participation with the International Chamber of Commerce and its Federation of International Chambers of Commerce.”
