Launching the ‘Sustainability Champions’ program to train 200 university students in the field of entrepreneurship

Dubai, December 10 / WAM / Nestlé, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, launched the “Sustainability Champions” program with the aim of empowering 200 university students, with a focus on Emirati youth, to enable them to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve success in entrepreneurship. and sustainable projects.

This program contributes to supporting the goals of the UAE Green Agenda 2030 and the National Youth Agenda 2031.

The announcement of the launch of the program was made during an event held in Dubai attended by Her Excellency Safia Hashem Al Safi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Commercial Control and Governance Sector at the Ministry of Economy, and Hajra Laktbi, Director of the Government Communications Department at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, in addition to a number of senior executives from Nestlé. .

The program focuses on enhancing sustainable entrepreneurship skills by providing students with the opportunity to discover innovative solutions that address pressing environmental and social challenges. It is based on transforming classrooms into experimental and practical workshops that encourage students to interact and learn from each other and from entrepreneurial experts. The program also includes specialized guidance from the Nestlé UAE team and a group of experts.

The program aims to provide participants with the necessary tools to launch successful projects in the field of sustainability. Nestlé also provides participants with the opportunity to conduct quick interviews for training opportunities in the company, allowing them to acquire new skills in a competitive and dynamic work environment.

Her Excellency Safia Hashem Al Safi stressed the importance of supporting initiatives that promote sustainable entrepreneurship, praising the launch of the “Sustainability Champions” program by Nestlé, which contributes to providing university youth with sustainable entrepreneurship tools, noting that the program encourages young people to explore innovative solutions to environmental challenges. And social, which contributes to building a sustainable economy based on innovation and artificial intelligence.

She added that the UAE has launched many initiatives to achieve sustainable economic growth, including the “Home of Entrepreneurship,” which has supported more than 4,000 small and medium enterprises, in addition to the “Thabat” program, which enhances the ability of family businesses to enter new economic sectors.
