Jeddah.. “Camels Through the Ages” exhibition highlights the ancient Saudi heritage
The ceremony was attended by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Layan Cultural Company, and the Mayor of Jeddah Governorate, Saleh bin Ali Al Turki, along with a number of Their Highnesses and Excellencies, at the King Abdulaziz Cultural Center in Abraq Al-Rughama.
Camels in Saudi culture
The ceremony began with the playing of the Royal Anthem, followed by the screening of a documentary film about the importance of camels and their place in Saudi culture.
Prince Faisal bin Abdullah delivered a speech in which he expressed his thanks to His Highness the Emir of the region for his patronage and to His Highness the Governor of Jeddah for his presence, referring to the camel’s journey that began from the King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh, passing through the “Ithra” Center in Dhahran, to reach Abraq Al-Rughama, the memorial site. The historic process of ending the unification of the Kingdom.

Saudi heritage
After that, the audience toured around the exhibition, which highlights the ancient Saudi heritage, focusing on the historical relationship between humans and camels, and their role in daily life and Arab culture throughout the ages.

The ceremony concluded with His Highness Prince Saud bin Jalawi honoring the winners of the eighth edition of the “Dia Aziz Portrait” competition, praising the efforts made in organizing the event, which highlights one of the most important aspects of the Kingdom’s cultural heritage.
