Users of the WhatsApp and Instagram applications belonging to the “Meta” company witnessed a sudden malfunction, which led to the cessation of the services of the two applications in various regions around the world, on Wednesday evening.

Many users on social media platforms reported the inability to send messages via WhatsApp or update pages and upload content on Instagram.

According to initial reports, the malfunction appeared simultaneously in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America, while Meta has not yet issued an official clarification regarding the cause of the malfunction or the expected duration for its repair.

It is worth noting that these malfunctions are not the first of their kind, as “Meta” applications have witnessed similar incidents in previous periods, which raised questions about the reliability of digital services on which a huge segment of users globally depend.
