Tomorrow: the launch of the Al Murabbaa Arts Festival in Ajman

Ajman, December 12 / WAM / Under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Chairman of the Executive Council, the Ajman Tourism Development Department announced that the second edition of the “Al Murabbaa Arts Festival” will start tomorrow and continue until December 16 in the area. The Heritage Trail in Ajman, with the participation of local and international artists to come together in an international cultural artistic event.
The festival was given this name in reference to the “Al Murabbaa Tower”, the most famous tourist attraction located on the Ajman Corniche, which was built in the 1930s under the direction of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, “may God rest his soul”, to be a control tower for those coming to Ajman from the south. Western and to provide security for the residents of the city and its passersby, as the name came to celebrate the cultural heritage and preserve the heritage left by the founding fathers, which strengthens the Emirati identity for the emerging generations. It consolidates the emirate’s position as a prominent cultural destination.
Linking the festival to the “Al Murabbaa Tower” and its authentic heritage connotations reflects the department’s belief in the importance of preserving heritage places and cultural landmarks in the emirate.
The event, which is considered the first specialized festival of its kind in the emirate, showcases many artistic forms, creative drawings, and the creative values of the Emirate of Ajman, and provides a diverse experience through its natural landscapes, heritage buildings, and activities, making it a fertile field for young talents to highlight their creative talents, in order to strengthen the emirate’s position as a vital center. For culture and arts, an incubator for creative people, and a forum for talent.
The festival offers a variety of artistic and cultural activities, including live drawing workshops suitable for all ages, giving visitors the opportunity to meet artists, interact with them, and explore and purchase their distinctive artwork.
It also contributes to encouraging promising generations, supporting aspiring artists and creators, and stimulating cooperation with the artistic community at the local and global levels, in line with the department’s keenness to strengthen the country’s trends in developing the paths of culture and arts in its various sectors.
The festival includes a number of events and performances, which include laser, neon and bubble shows by the “Lazerman” band, musical performances by the “Formanos” band, and other performances that include popular bands and DJs, in addition to musical acts presented by musicians such as Khaled bin Khadem “Ala Al-Qanun” and Ammar. Al-Hallaq “on the saxophone,” and Somaya Ibrahim Abdullah “on the qanun.”
The festival will also witness two artistic concerts on December 13 and 14, the first of which will be performed by artists Abdulaziz Al-Duwaihi, Khaled Al-Mulla, and Ali Abdullah, while the second will be performed by artist Youssef Al-Omani and artist Oraib Hamdan.
His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashemi, Director General of the Ajman Tourism Development Department, expressed his happiness at launching this important cultural event, which reflects Ajman’s vision of enhancing the artistic and cultural scene at the local and regional levels.
He added that the department confirms through this festival its continued support of initiatives that contribute to building bridges of communication and interaction between cultures and peoples, and highlights the great potential that the Emirate of Ajman enjoys in the fields of art and culture.
His Excellency explained that the Al Murabbaa Arts Festival represents a distinguished platform that allows local and international innovators and artists to display their innovations and creativity, and contributes to spreading awareness of the importance of the arts and enriching cultural and creative life, in addition to the Tourism Development Department’s endeavor to promote and encourage the new generation of talented and creative minds, which reflects positively on the reputation of Ajman’s position as a distinguished cultural and tourism destination.
The festival comes within the framework of the Tourism Development Department’s strategy to support the creative and cultural scene in the emirate, by presenting a combination of the richness of the past and the sophistication of the future, and provides a comprehensive, dynamic experience for art lovers and culture lovers, which enhances the creative pulse of the region and works to highlight the cultural and artistic movement, develop creative communities and improve… Its outputs in the emirate.
It is expected that 200 artists from various specializations, such as painting, sculpture, and photography, will participate in the festival, with wide audience participation from all age groups. The festival will allocate a corner for children that will provide various activities that encourage their creativity and support their talents. It will also present a group of live performances that include the arts of theatre, dance, and music. It displays an eclectic mix of cultural expressions.
