Shabab Al-Ahly coach: The mental factor is crucial to winning the Super Cup tomorrow against Al-Wasl
Dubai, December 12 / WAM / Portuguese Paulo Sousa, coach of the Shabab Al-Ahly team, expressed his happiness at participating in the UAE Super Cup, stressing that his team is preparing according to its own identity and distinctive approach to playing, pointing out that winning the cup requires high performance and application of the established strategy.
Souza said in the press conference held today: “I am happy to be here. This is the atmosphere that UAE football needs in every match. We hope to continue developing the level of the game.”
He added: “Our preparations depend on the identity of Shabab Al-Ahly and our way of playing, and this is what we work on daily. Of course, we add some tactical details related to each match, such as tomorrow’s match, in order to understand the opponent’s style and employ what suits him in our plans.”
Sousa praised the achievements of Al-Wasl coach Milos, after he had a wonderful season last year, and said: “We work with the same approach and strive to be better by the end of the season.”
He said: “It is true that they beat us in every match last season, but this is a new match and a special title that is decided in one match. Players and coaches always work to win titles, and this is what we aspire to achieve tomorrow.”
He added: “We focus on all aspects of the match, whether in attack, defense, or quick transitions between them, in addition to dealing with set pieces. We study our opponent well and know his strengths and what he presented last and current season. We have to be vigilant and ready to face any tactical changes.. We are prepared in all respects. The mental factor will be decisive, especially since the match is a final and every team will do its utmost to win the title. Our goal is to provide an outstanding performance and achieve victory.”
