France.. Macron announces the name of the new prime minister today, Friday

French President Emmanuel Macron’s office said on Thursday that Macron will announce the name of the new French prime minister on Friday.
A little more than a week after the fall of the center-right government headed by Michel Barnier, Macron will try to nominate a unified figure, although media reports indicate that there is no favorite candidate.
Political commentators spoke highly of 73-year-old politician François Bayrou, who belongs to the center-right movement, after Macron consulted with all parties except the far left and right in an attempt to form the broadest possible government.

If Bayrou is chosen, it will remain to be seen whether Macron’s ally is able to form a majority capable of governing, with expectations that he may face a fate similar to Barnier, the former Brexit negotiator.
The name of former Socialist Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve has also been put forward in the press, as well as former Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu and former Minister of Partnership with the Regions and Decentralization Catherine Vautran.
Last Wednesday, the opposition ousted Barnier after he took office for only three months due to a dispute over the austerity budget.
Macron is under pressure due to the fall of the government after he called for early elections this year, which backfired.
Opposition parties called on Macron to submit his resignation amid the political and economic crisis, with the 2025 budget not being passed by Parliament, but Macron announced that he would remain in office until the end of his term in 2027.
