المملكة: Improving Mecca weather using Taif clouds…a research study at the COP16 conference

The National Center of Meteorology revealed the latest research studies for the “cloud seeding” program, which aims to benefit from Taif clouds to enhance the chances of improving the weather in Mecca and the Holy Sites.
This came as part of the center’s participation in the innovation pavilion at the Science Park during the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP16 held in Riyadh.

In previous statements by the Centre’s CEO, Dr. Ayman Ghulam, he stressed that the cloud seeding program comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s endeavor to develop innovative solutions to environmental and climate challenges, pointing out that Taif’s clouds represent one of the promising opportunities to enhance water resources and improve weather conditions in vital areas, including Mecca and the holy sites.
It is noteworthy that the National Center of Meteorology is constantly working to develop innovative scientific research and studies, and actively participates in international initiatives related to climate change, emphasizing the Kingdom’s pioneering role in confronting environmental challenges.
