Dubai International Chamber organizes 408 bilateral business meetings in Dar es Salaam

Dubai International Chamber, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, concluded its trade mission to Uganda and Tanzania, signing a memorandum of understanding in the Tanzanian capital, Dar es Salaam, and organizing 408 bilateral business meetings between companies from Dubai and their Tanzanian counterparts, to discuss concluding promising partnerships and benefiting from commercial opportunities. A statement issued yesterday stated that, with the aim of enhancing cooperation to stimulate intra-trade and investment movement and raising the level of business partnerships, Dubai Chambers signed, during the mission, a memorandum of understanding with the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, within the framework of enhancing cooperation, in addition to organizing trade missions, conferences and events dedicated to business with the aim of sharing… Experience and knowledge, exchange of information, consultations, and opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the areas of business and investment policies.
The mission’s activities in Dar es Salaam included organizing a forum entitled “Doing Business with Tanzania” with the support of the UAE Embassy in Dar es Salaam, the Tanzania Embassy in the country, the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, the Tanzania Investment Centre, the Private Sector Association in Tanzania, and the Federation of Tanzania Industries. .
Dubai Chambers Director General, Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, said: “The activities of the Dubai International Chamber mission to Tanzania came within the framework of our firm commitment to strengthening economic and trade relations with promising African markets. Dubai’s non-oil trade with Tanzania reached 9.8 billion dirhams in 2023, a growth of 9% compared to 2022, according to data from the Dubai Customs Department, while the number of active Tanzanian companies registered as members of the Dubai Chamber by the end of September of this year reached 274 companies.
