Abu Dhabi, December 14 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority announced, during a press conference yesterday evening, the list of finalists for the fourth season of the “The Reversed” program, which included 18 participants from four Arab countries, with Saudi Arabia dominating with 13 participants, along with participants from the Emirates. , Kuwait, and Qatar.
His Excellency Major General Staff Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, in his speech delivered on his behalf by Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Acting Executive Director of the Festivals and Events Sector at the Authority, stressed the importance of the program in enhancing Abu Dhabi’s pioneering role in preserving heritage and enhancing national identity. Pointing out that the fourth season comes as a continuation of the successes of previous seasons, with an increase in the value of the prizes, as the first place winner will receive one million dirhams, while cash prizes ranging from 500 thousand and 100 thousand dirhams for the winners of the following positions.
During the press conference held at Al Raha Beach Theater, Saeed bin Karaz Al Muhairi, director of the program, announced qualitative changes in the new season, most notably the adoption of innovative evaluation mechanisms to enhance competition, indicating that the first stage will witness creative additions, as the participant will be given 10 additional marks in the second pass. In the first three episodes, participants will have the freedom to choose melodies, while presenting two verses of poetry of their choice, provided that they have not been sung before.
Al Muhairi added that the evaluation will be divided into 60% by the jury (50 marks for the first appearance and 10 for the second appearance), and 40% for the public vote, which will enhance the audience’s interaction with the participants.
He explained that Saudi journalist Al-Anoud Badr will present the program this season, which will be broadcast live from Al Raha Beach Theater on the “Abu Dhabi” and “Baynouna” channels on Monday evening every week at 9 pm.
Saeed Al Muhairi stressed that the new season will provide an exceptional experience that highlights the Emirati and Gulf heritage, and renews Abu Dhabi’s commitment to preserving and promoting the heritage at the global level.
This season consists of 8 live episodes, leading to the final episode scheduled for February 3, 2025.
The press conference was attended by members of the program’s judging committee, poet of rhyme and dialogue, Muhammad bin Mushayt Al Marri from the UAE, Dr. Hamoud Jalawi, a faculty member in the Arabic Language Department at the College of Basic Education in the State of Kuwait, poet of rhyme and dialogue, and vocalist Shayea Fares Al-Ayyafi from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and poet of rhyme and dialogue. Miteb bin Hamad Zayed Cruz Al Marri from the State of Qatar and a number of poets and those interested in popular heritage.
