The Ministry of Education confirmed that the powers to suspend studies or delay the start of the school day are granted to education directors in various regions, according to what is decided by the climate conditions committees in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The Ministry indicated that parents have the right to make a decision to prevent their children from attending school if they suffer from medical conditions.

She also confirmed that education departments took precautionary measures to deal with the current cold wave announced by the Civil Defense and the National Center of Meteorology.
Among these measures are delaying the start of the school day until eight-thirty or nine in the morning, and canceling morning lineups when needed..
The Ministry added that these measures include all school employees, including students, teachers and administrators, with the aim of ensuring the safety of everyone.
