Campaign conclusion "UAE is clean"

Umm Al Quwain, December 14 / WAM / Her Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, today (Saturday) in Umm Al Quwain, witnessed the conclusion of the 23rd session of the “Clean UAE” campaign organized by the Emirates Environment Working Group after it toured all the emirates. State.

His Excellency Ahmed Ibrahim Obaid Al Ali, Director General of the Umm Al Quwain Municipality Department, participated in the final day of the campaign on the campaign’s Al-Madfaq Beach in Umm Al Quwain, along with 892 volunteers, covering an area of ​​5 kilometers, whereby the total collected by the campaign reached 7,557 kilograms of waste, which was sorted and the materials extracted. recyclable and sent to local factories for proper processing and recycling.

This year, the campaign achieved its goals, with broad community participation at the state level, including the participation of 66 educational institutions, 680 private sector institutions, and 19 public sector institutions at the federal and local levels.

Her Excellency Dr. Amna Al-Dahhak stressed that the UAE is working to raise awareness and involve all members of society, especially young people, in order to preserve the cleanliness of the environment, which is the source of life in terms of water, food and air, noting that the “Clean UAE” campaign contributes to strengthening this national trend.

Her Excellency said that pollution is the biggest enemy of the environment, and with our hands and our behavior we can keep it clean by instilling positive behaviors in ourselves and in the souls of children and youth, noting that the matter is not limited to members of society, but to all concerned parties in the country.

She added that the UAE has laws and legislation that prevent harm and pollution to the environment by any economic, industrial or commercial activity, and through the cooperation of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and all concerned parties, we ensure that these laws are implemented and respected by everyone.

She pointed to the launch of the national program “Plant the Emirates” in order to expand agriculture and involve the community in that system to enhance sustainable national food security, noting that the past weeks witnessed the participation of many community members and students in afforestation activities in addition to training them on caring for it, and she stressed that afforestation Agriculture and agriculture support efforts to protect the environment and keep it clean and healthy, calling on everyone to expand indoor agriculture and participate in various afforestation activities.

Her Excellency Al Dahak thanked the Emirates Environment Working Group and all parties participating in the “Clean UAE” campaign for the efforts made and their contribution to enhancing the UAE’s clean environment for future generations.

Habiba Al Marashi, founding member and head of the Emirates Environment Working Group, confirmed that this year’s campaign achieved all its strategic goals and recorded great successes after 83,123 people participated in its activities nationwide, who were able to collect 43,441 kilograms of waste and clean an area of ​​95.5 square kilometers of land that witnessed the campaign’s activities. .
