المملكة: Reserving 3 foreign trucks in violation and fining 10 thousand riyals

The General Transport Authority has seized 3 foreign trucks to practice transporting goods inside the Kingdom with the support of the security authorities, as well as a fine of 10,000 riyals.
This is in accordance with the road transport system and within the efforts of the authority in field control and inspection, and to take the necessary measures, to achieve an organized and safe transportation environment that supports economic growth, contributes to enhancing the efficiency of supply chains, and raising the competitiveness of the logistical sector.

Strict penalties

The authority confirmed that it will not tolerate the application of regular procedures against violators, as a fine of 10,000 riyals will be imposed, and the violating truck will be seized for a period of 15 days the first time.
The penalties will double in the event of the repetition of the violation, to reach the fine to 20 thousand riyals when the violation is repeated with the truck’s reservation for 30 days, and 40 thousand riyals for the violation for the third time with the truck reservation 60 days, and 80 thousand riyals for the fourth time with the truck’s reservation for a period of 60 days.

In the event that the violator is committed, the violation for the fifth time, a fine of 160,000 riyals is imposed, with the truck used for 60 days, and the penalties include the confiscation of the violating trucks, which deliberately repeat the violations and do not abide by the regulations.
The General Transport Authority stressed that it is continuing to intensify field control operations and take measures against violators, due to the lack of exploitation of regulations, and to prevent any violations that may affect the justice of competition, road safety, and the efficiency of the logistical sector.
The authority pointed to its commitment to applying the highest criteria for governance and transparency, in a way that contributes to enhancing the transportation environment, supporting the local carrier, and upgrading the quality of logistics services, in order to achieve the targets of the national strategy for transport and logistical services, and to upgrade this vital sector.
