4000 contestants share the third edition of the race "Labik Khorfakkan" Running

Sharjah, March 16 / WAM / The third edition of the “Labik Khorfakkan” race witnessed the participation of more than 4000 contestants of all categories and ages within the “Labik Khorfakkan” night festival.

The race is organizing the Emirates Athletics Federation in cooperation with Khorfakkan Cultural Club, Khorfakkan Football Club and the Municipal Council of Khor Fakkan, and it is supported by the Sharjah Sports Council and a number of other parties, and aims to enhance the culture of community sport.

The event witnessed a variety of running competitions where races were allocated to citizens and residents, and participants competed in different categories, including the adult race for a distance of 8 km, 6 km for women, an under -18 race for a distance of 3 km for males and females, in addition to the 8 km resident race for men and 6 km for women, as well as a family race for all family members to enhance the concept of sport in the life of society.

The race was launched in front of the Khorfakkan runway, one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the city, passing through a number of prominent tourist attractions such as the Khorfakkan Corniche, the Khor Fakkan, and the eastern market.

The festival was attended by His Excellency Major General Dr. Mohamed Al -Murr, President of the Municipal Council of Khor Fakkan and President of the Emirates Athletics Federation, His Excellency Tariq Saeed Allai, Director General of the Media Office of the Sharjah Government, His Excellency Dr. Yasser Al -Doukhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department at the Sharjah Sports Council, His Excellency Salem Mohamed Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Khor Fakkan Cultural Sports Club, His Excellency Dr. Ammar Rashid Allai, President of Khorfakan Club For football, in addition to a number of senior officials and the public of all groups, ages and nationalities.

His Excellency Salem Al -Naqbi, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Cultural Sports Club, stressed the importance of this initiative and its societal message, indicating that the festival reflects the solidarity of the various parties and the people of the region in expressing their thanks to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Federation and Ruler of Sharjah, because of its prominent role in supporting society.

Al -Naqbi added that Khorfakkan Club is always keen to adopt community sports initiatives, especially in the holy month of Ramadan, indicating that these initiatives contribute to spreading the concepts of health patterns, which guarantee the safety and health of society.

At the end of the festival, the winners were honored in various categories, in addition to honoring the partners and supporters who contributed to the success of the activities of the third edition of the festival.
