The conclusion of the largest session… 122 films from 85 countries at the Red Sea Festival

This evening, the Red Sea International Film Festival concluded the activities of its fourth session with a closing ceremony, announcing the winners of the Al Yusr Awards for the fourth session of the festival, and this year’s honorees, who are: international actress Viola Davis and actress and producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas, in recognition of their distinguished artistic careers and exceptional contributions to the film industry.
The Red Sea Competition jury, headed by international director Spike Lee, worked to determine 14 categories for the winners, with 16 feature films competing in the official competition, under the slogan “The House,” in addition to 48 films within the “New Saudi Cinema” and “Arabic Short Films” programs. And “International Short Films” competed for the Al Yusr Awards.

For her part, Managing Director of the Red Sea Film Foundation, Shivani Pandya Malhotra, expressed her pride in the exceptional attendance of cinematic works that were shown for the first time globally and internationally.

She said: The list of premieres included 46 global premieres, 15 international premieres, and 53 regional premieres in the Middle East and North Africa region, noting that the filmmakers choosing the festival to display their works for the first time confirms that cinema has a new home and a new destination for celebrating cinematic creativity.

In turn, the acting CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, Muhammad Asiri, explained that during the fourth round of the Red Sea International Film Festival, many partnerships and initiatives were held aimed at promoting cinematic voices at the local and regional levels.
It is noteworthy that the Red Sea International Film Festival celebrated the success of this year’s session, as its largest session to date, as the number of attendees at this moment reached more than 6,773 guests, and the box office achieved a record number of tickets sold in all shows and dialogue sessions, exceeding 30 thousand tickets. Sold.
