A hurricane hits California and causes a power outage

Yesterday, Saturday, a tornado swept through northern California, causing cars to overturn, trees falling, power lines being destroyed, and thousands of people affected by power outages, according to the US National Weather Service and local media.

Santa Cruz County, located south of San Francisco, was one of the most prominent affected areas, as pictures spread on social media showing overturned cars and large amounts of water.

The National Weather Service issued a storm warning, with winds expected to reach 40 knots per hour, or about 75 kilometers per hour, on Sunday, and called on residents to stay away from the beaches.
