The UAE shares Bahrain’s joy on the 53rd National Day

Abu Dhabi, December 16 / WAM / Today, the UAE participates with the sister Kingdom of Bahrain in the celebrations of its 53rd National Day, which falls on December 16 of each year, as an embodiment of the fraternal relations and strategic partnership between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
The UAE is witnessing a number of distinguished events and performances, including lighting up a number of the country’s most prominent landmarks with the Bahraini flag, and many festive displays that reflect the joy of the UAE and its people on this occasion.
The UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain are linked by historical relations whose roots go back for many decades, aided in their growth and development by the common constants and visions that bring together the two brotherly countries. These relations whose specificity stems from the ties of kinship, shared history and distinguished fraternal relations between their leaders, represented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al. Nahyan, the Head of State, may God protect him, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain.
The relations between the two countries are one of the most prominent foundations of the unity of the Gulf House and the preservation of its security and stability, and they gain great importance in light of the distinct political and strategic weight they enjoy at the regional and global levels, and the fact that they are among the leading models in the region in the areas of sustainable development and the implementation of ambitious policies for development and modernization.
The year 2000 represented a starting point for Emirati-Bahraini relations towards unlimited dimensions and horizons at all levels, following the formation of the joint supreme committee between the two countries, which undertook the task of strengthening political, military, economic, investment and cultural relations, for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples and supports the process of joint Gulf action.
Last November, the 12th session of the Joint Supreme Committee between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain was held in Manama, and witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on consolidating cooperation and exchanging experiences in the field of civil aviation, a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation and the exchange of financial and economic policies and expertise, and a memorandum of understanding for cooperation. In the areas of enhancing competitiveness, and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of training and developing government competencies, in addition to an executive program for cooperation in the tourism field.
On the economic and commercial level, the process of cooperation between the two brotherly countries confirms the strength of relations and the integration of the two countries’ economies, as the volume of non-oil trade exchange between the two countries reached 15.3 billion dirhams during the first half of this year, a growth of 26% compared to the same period in 2023.
The UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain are linked to many economic and commercial agreements and memorandums of understanding, which have contributed to enhancing the volume of trade exchange between them during the recent period. The two brotherly countries have also signed, in recent years, many agreements and memorandums of understanding in several fields, most notably the exploration and use of space for peaceful purposes. A memorandum of understanding on qualifications and quality assurance, and a memorandum of understanding in the agricultural field and living aquatic resources. The two countries also signed an agreement to study the development of renewable energy projects between the Supreme Council for the Environment in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the… Abu Dhabi Future Energy “Masdar”, and other multiple areas of cooperation.
The cooperation between the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain is a pioneering model of joint work aimed at achieving sustainable development, which embodies the depth of the historical fraternal relations between the two sides, as the Fund is linked with the Kingdom of Bahrain in a well-established strategic partnership since 1974, which has contributed to supporting promising economic visions to achieve development. Overall.
The Fund contributed significantly to the development of infrastructure and sustainable development projects in Bahrain, by financing 33 development projects worth up to 23 billion dirhams, which included major sectors such as housing, energy, transportation, and health, and contributed to meeting financing needs and supporting the financial balance program for the years 2023 and 2024. Which boosted economic growth in the country.
The two countries share a common cultural heritage of arts and literature that formed a homogeneous cultural identity for their peoples and for all the peoples of the Arabian Gulf region, while the common customs and traditions between the two peoples are reflected in many vocabulary in poetry, prose, stories, oral heritage, proverbs and popular narratives, in addition to what is related to methods and methods of life in general.
During the previous years, the two countries signed many cooperation memorandums and protocols in the field of cultural cooperation to preserve the common historical heritage of the two brotherly countries, and within this framework came the project to restore heritage buildings in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was supported by the UAE.
