Samer Ismail is nominated for Best Actor at the Joy Awards
The management of the Joy Awards ceremony announced the nomination of the Syrian star Samer Ismail for the Best Actor in a TV Series award for his role in the series The Agent. This is among the nominations for the Entertainment Makers Awards for the year 2025, which will be awarded in a large ceremony that will be held next January 18 as part of the Riyadh Season activities.  ;
The Agent series is Samer Ismail’s latest work, and was preceded by the Syrian social series Badia’s Children, which competed in The last Ramadan season is 2024, and the two series are also present in the Joy Awards nominations in the Best Levantine Series category.
Samer Ismail is a Syrian actor who was chosen by Screen International magazine as one of the Arab Stars of Tomorrow in 2016. His artistic career witnessed a strong start starring in the Omar series. Chosen by the great Syrian director Hatem Ali to embody the starring role as Caliph Omar ibn al-Khattab in the huge religious historical series, among nearly 250 A male and female star from all over the Arab world, facing an audience estimated at millions, made the series a great success in the Arab world in 2012.
Samer’s first cinematic starring came in the thriller and suspense film The Chosen Ones, directed by the Emirati-British Ali Mustafa. The film had its world premiere in 2016 at the London Film Festival, before it was shown commercially in Egypt and the Emirates, then on Netflix.
Samer Ismail’s latest cinematic work is the film Cello, directed by international award-winner Darren Lynn Bousman, and written by He left Al Sheikh, with Oscar-winning star Jeremy Irons.
And in the cinema also Samer participated in the film “The Day I Lost My Shadow” Directed by Soudad Kaadan, who won the Best First Work Award at the Venice International Film Festival (2018).
The list of Samer’s works in television drama includes more than 14 prominent works, including the Jordanian series Obour, which competed in the 2019 Ramadan season. Samer co-starred with Saba Mubarak. Among his prominent series are: The Platform, Broken Bone, Tuesday the 12th, Downtown, In Paradox, Chains of Gold, Birth from the Loin, and One More Time.
