Human Rights Office: Israel must stop demolishing Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank

The office confirmed that this contradicts the advisory opinion it issued International Court of Justice In July, he concluded that the Israeli presence in the occupied Palestinian territory was illegal and must end as quickly as possible, and called for the immediate evacuation of all Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
The office expressed concern about recent developments, as mass demolitions of Palestinian homes and buildings took place in East Jerusalem, in addition to demolitions carried out for the first time in a nature reserve in Area B, which falls under the authority of the Palestinian authorities.
The UN office said that on Monday, Israeli forces carried out mass demolitions of Palestinian property in East Jerusalem and the Hebron Governorate, under the pretext of the lack of Israeli building permits. “Which is almost impossible for Palestinians to obtain due to discriminatory planning and zoning laws aimed at suppressing Palestinian construction.”
The United Nations Human Rights Office stressed the need for Israel to immediately reverse this trend and comply with its obligations under international law, including those set by the International Court of Justice. He said that third countries have a crucial role in stopping Israel’s illegal behavior, as they must not recognize the legality of the situation arising from Israel’s illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territory and refrain from helping Israel maintain this situation.
This requires countries to carefully consider a wide range of their interactions with Israel, including trade and economic relations and support for the Israeli military, the office said.
