المملكة: 6 tons of expired food supplies were seized in a warehouse in Jeddah

The Ministry of Commerce’s supervisory teams seized 6 tons of expired food items of unknown origin and without commercial data in a warehouse in the Al-Khomra district, south of Jeddah Governorate, during the supervisory teams’ implementation of field visits to monitor commercial establishments and verify their compliance with the regulations.
The Ministry summoned the facility owner to complete the implementation of the regulatory procedures against him in accordance with the provisions of the anti-commercial fraud system.

Tightening oversight and applying penalties

The Ministry of Commerce continues to confront violators of the anti-commercial fraud system and apply statutory penalties against them, as the system stipulates the imposition of penalties of up to three years in prison, fines of up to one million riyals or both, and defamation of violators at their expense.
It also receives consumer complaints and reports via the “Commercial Report” application or the call center at 1900.
