The organizing committee of “Gulf 26” is considering moving the date of the UAE-Qatar match to five in the afternoon

The organizing committee for the 26th Gulf Championship is considering moving forward the date of the match between the UAE national team and its Qatari counterpart, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday evening at the opening of the first group matches, to be held at 5 pm UAE time, instead of its previously scheduled time of 11 pm, to provide the opportunity for the fans of the two countries to attend the opening ceremony. Which precedes the Kuwait-Oman match scheduled for nine in the evening.
According to what Kuwaiti media reported, the new proposed date for the UAE-Qatar match has been studied by the organizing committee, and will be officially announced within hours.
For his part, the President of the Kuwait Football Association, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef, confirmed that the President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Swiss Gianni Infantino, had been invited to attend the opening of Gulf 26, which will be held during the period from December 21 to January 3. An invitation was also extended. A number of heads of Gulf federations and officials in Gulf countries attended the opening ceremony, the paragraphs of which will reflect the tournament’s slogan, “The Future is Gulf.”
Al-Yousef said in press statements that the opening ceremony will be distinguished in all its details, and has been prepared for it with utmost care, and is completely consistent with the slogan “The Future is Gulf,” adding that cooperation has been made with international companies specialized in organizing celebrations and international sporting events for a distinguished opening ceremony for the “Khaleeji Zain 26” tournament. There will be a big surprise waiting for the fans who will follow the ceremony, whether in the stadium or on television.
He added: “The stadiums are ready to host the Gulf 26 competitions after the official opening of Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah Stadium, and we thank all the workers who continued to work with all their energy around the clock to complete this sports edifice and show it in the most beautiful way possible.”
