Cairo Economic Court: My Soulmate movie based on the novel Transient

 

The Fifth Circuit Court of the Cairo Economic Court ruled that the author "Amani El-Tounsi" The idea for the movie (My Soulmate) was taken from the legally protected novel (Transient) by its author, “Mohamed El-Sayed Rahma”  

 

The final ruling was issued by the court headed by Judge “ “Mohamed Gouda Mohamed Abu Zaid” After the court appointed an intellectual property expert, who acknowledged in his report that the defendant had borrowed the idea for the film My Soulmate from the novel Aber, and had also borrowed from the novel the name of the character “Reem.” Presented by the artist “Amina Khalil” During the events of the film, the court obligated “Amani Al-Tunisi” to… By paying the original author of the novel an amount of five hundred thousand pounds as material and moral compensation, and obligating her to pay the expenses.

 

And “Amani Al-Tunisi” was She submitted a petition to the court, based on the ruling, in which she said that all litigation procedures had been completed at an address where she did not reside, and that the ruling had been issued due to the plaintiff’s deception by fabricating an unreal place of residence for her. The court ruled, after reviewing all the papers, not to accept the petition and to fine her. Amani Al-Tunisi The amount of four hundred pounds and obligating her to pay the expenses, as the address is “Amani Al-Tunisi” The one against whom all the litigation procedures were completed is established by the court, and it itself chose it as its place of residence, in the lawsuit it filed against the author, “Mohamed Al-Sayyid Rahma.” In which she accused him of defamation, and asked him for compensation, which the court also ruled to reject.
