The National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates launches a musical work in honor of the protectors of the nation


Abu Dhabi, 11 March / WAM / The National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates launched the musical work “Men, by God, Men”, from the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, in honor of the protectors of the nation, their courage and dedication in defending citizens and residents.
The work combines orchestral music and choral voices, as the musical piece presents the poem of His Highness the President, may God protect him, in a renewed way that highlights its musical dimensions and reflects the courage of the protectors and their dedication to serving and defending the nation.
The National Orchestra was established to reflect the cultural voice of the United Arab Emirates and promote the concepts of unity and harmony among its residents through music, as cultural expression methods constitute an influential means that reflects common identity and collective feelings of gratitude in times that require community solidarity and rallying around the nation.
The orchestra presents this piece composed by Muhammad Al-Ahmad, in a new orchestral arrangement prepared by the composer and arranger Ahmed Al-Muji, where the musicians meet with the orchestra’s choir to present a musical combination that highlights the rhythmic richness of the piece and its expressive traditions, while employing modern orchestral colors that add a renewed musical dimension to the work.
The musical performance begins with a chant performed by the choir, establishing the rhythmic and vocal framework of the work, before the full orchestra gradually joins in to participate in it.
As the work develops, the orchestra’s vocal layers increase, leading to the addition of soprano voices, which add a meditative dimension of depth and harmony to the final section.
Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates, said that the poem “Men, by God, are Men” highlights the values of courage, dedication and generosity of the heroes who protect the country and its people, noting that the National Orchestra of the country seeks, through this work, to express the nation’s gratitude to them, and also reminds us of the influential role that culture plays in highlighting our national values and our common identity.
For her part, Sheikha Alia bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Director General of the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates, said that the National Orchestra of the State bears the responsibility of expressing the voice of the nation through music, and this message gains double importance in these moments, pointing out that this work reflects feelings of pride, steadfastness and national unity, and sends a sincere greeting to the protectors of the UAE in appreciation of their dedication and courage in defending the nation and preserving the security of citizens and residents.
Based on its roots in the Emirati musical heritage, and with the participation of musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds; The country’s national orchestra emphasizes the role of orchestral music in highlighting the identity of the United Arab Emirates and its rich cultural fabric.
The musical performance is available to watch on the official digital channels of the UAE National Orchestra, and is accompanied by a video showing the orchestra and choir performing the work.
