With rich and profound works… The Riyadh Theater Festival shines in its fifth day

The Riyadh Theater Festival, supervised by the Theater and Performing Arts Authority, shined with distinctive performances for its fifth day, ranging from creative workshops to realistic plays rich in deep content.
The theatrical activities began with the workshop “Story Architect: The Role of the Dramaturge in Theater – Part Two,” presented by Dr. Riad Sakran, shedding light on the role of the dramaturg in enhancing theatrical texts and crafting them in a creative way that supports the vision of directors and authors.
On stage, the play “Wedding Ring” attracted attention with its realistic story that takes the audience on an exciting journey into the corridors of married life, and the ability of the spouses to understand and accept challenges, and try to convince each other to achieve family cohesion.

Theater Authority

The activities concluded with the play “The Cube”, which is one of the outcomes of the Theater Authority’s course on playwriting, and the show provided a unique theatrical experience.
The director of the work said that he is not a playwright in the traditional sense, but rather a maker of a visual image that conveys multiple meanings according to the viewer’s awareness and feelings, and carried a different visual experience that explored the aesthetic dimensions of the theatrical scene and opened horizons for interpretation and thinking.

The events were characterized by the growing passion for theatrical art in the Kingdom, as the festival, in its second session, shows a remarkable development in theatrical creativity and support for promising Saudi talents.
It is noteworthy that the Riyadh Theater Festival, which was launched last Sunday and continues until December 26, is one of the most prominent cultural events that celebrate theater in the Kingdom.
