Launching activities "Al Wathba Flowers" At the Sheikh Zayed Festival

Abu Dhabi, December 22nd / WAM / The Supreme Organizing Committee of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence announced the launch of the activities of the Al Wathba Flower Festival, in its first session, in the award pavilion at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba.

The Al Wathba Flower Festival, which continues until December 27, is the third festival accompanying the award, and highlights the diversity of flowers and their uses in the UAE while enhancing awareness of their benefits and positive impact on the environment.

The festival contributes to spreading the culture of sustainability by displaying the latest projects, solutions and practices in the field of flower cultivation, enhancing cooperation between government and private agencies, farmers and community members, as well as providing a platform for flower producers, project owners and companies to display their products and exchange experiences between them.

The festival will witness the holding of 10 accompanying competitions offering cash prizes totaling 346 thousand dirhams to 37 winners, in addition to granting participation certificates to the rest of the participants.

The competitions open participation to different categories of festival visitors, local farmers in the country, people of determination, children, productive families, and major companies specialized in landscaping.

The most prominent competitions accompanying the festival include the Most Beautiful Bouquet Competition, which allows visitors to participate by providing them with flowers and special tools for arranging bouquets, with the aim of encouraging creativity and innovation and enhancing interest in the aesthetics of flowers.

The Best Flower Farm in the Emirates competition focuses on honoring local farms in the country, which are distinguished by their creative design and diversity of flowers, in addition to the use of sustainable irrigation practices and systems, while the Best Desert Garden Design competition targets landscaping companies and encourages the exploration of new and innovative methods of agriculture. cosmetics, and promoting creativity in the use of limited natural resources, while the competition for the best product made from flowers aims to support productive families and motivate them to participate with products manufactured from flowers for cosmetic, aromatic, medical, or other uses.

His Excellency Ahmed Khaled Othman, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence, said that the festival provides an interactive experience that combines education, entertainment and community participation, as well as hosting many workshops, educational discussions and competitions for community groups, with valuable prizes for each competition.

He invited all interested people, including flower lovers, productive families, farms, and companies working in this field, to participate in various competitions and showcase their skills and innovations to win many valuable prizes.

The award continues to participate in the Sheikh Zayed Festival, with the organization of 5 main festivals that include 87 accompanying competitions and 7 different livestock auctions.
