"Friends of cancer patients" Extending the reception of donations "Zakat campaign" Until the end of the year

Sharjah, March 26 / WAM / The Friends of Cancer Patients Society announced the extension of the annual “Zakat” campaign for the year 2026 under the slogan “For Good People” until the end of this year, noting that during the holy month of Ramadan the campaign contributed to supporting ten patients to complete their treatment programs, while the donations that will be collected will contribute to strengthening the Society’s efforts to support a larger number of patients throughout the year.

The association provides psychological and social support to cancer patients and their families, enhancing their stability during the treatment journey, in line with the “Year of the Family 2026” in the country.

The association opened the door to collecting donations to support treatment cases on the YallaGive platform, emphasizing the importance of community solidarity in responding to urgent medical needs, enabling patients to complete their treatment plans in a timely manner, and turning giving into tangible results in the lives of patients and their families.

The annual “Zakat” campaign witnessed the participation of a group of partners, sponsors and volunteers in a way that reflects the expanding circle of social responsibility and the shared belief in the importance of supporting cancer patients and alleviating the burdens on their families.

In terms of digital performance, during the month of Ramadan alone, the campaign achieved 1.3 million accesses, 3 million 700,000 impressions, and 500,000 interactions, which reflects the effectiveness of humanitarian and awareness messages in reaching the public, stimulating community participation, and directing support towards cases in need of treatment and medicine. Total donations on the YallaGive platform also recorded an increase of 127%.

The association strengthened the campaign’s presence during the month of Ramadan through a range of activities and initiatives, including the “Rebekah Podcast,” which discusses the importance of early detection and the role of donations and psychological support in helping patients heal and recover. The podcast contributed to expanding the scope of awareness and humanitarian messages, and highlighted the importance of community support, early detection, and support for patients, survivors, and their families.

Aisha Al-Mulla, Director of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, said that the annual Zakat campaign reflects the association’s vision of providing integrated support that addresses the needs of the patient and his family, whether at the level of health or psychological, social, and family stability, pointing out that during the Year of the Family, the importance of this role doubles, as the association believes that supporting the patient is support for the entire family and protection for its balance and ability to continue life with confidence and hope.

Al-Mulla added that what was achieved in the annual zakat campaign during the month of Ramadan confirms the possibility of transforming zakat money into a sustainable and tangible impact to provide the medicine needed to treat patients, as the campaign embodies the meaning of sustainable support that protects the stability of families and gives patients the opportunity to continue treatment, noting that out of the association’s belief that giving is a continuous and renewable work, the door to receiving zakat will remain open throughout the current year through the association’s official channels.

The campaign led extensive community and humanitarian efforts, as the association dedicated the annual Ramadan Iftar party to mobilize community efforts and enhance awareness of the campaign’s message, as the Iftar was held with the participation of about 300 cancer patients and their families.

The association stressed that continuing community partnerships, strengthening reliable giving channels, and expanding awareness are essential elements in consolidating the campaign’s impact and supporting patients and their families throughout the year, and contributes to building a sustainable support system that preserves the dignity of the injured, gives them hope, and supports their chances of treatment and recovery.
