The Film Commission organizes a workshop in Qassim on “Film Editing Basics”
The Film Authority announced the organization of an in-person workshop entitled “Film Editing Basics” in the Qassim region, which is scheduled to be held during the period from December 30 to January 2.
The workshop aims to develop the editing skills of filmmakers, by enabling them to choose appropriate shots, address the challenges of transitioning between scenes, and prepare films for cinematic display in a way that highlights the storytelling and actors’ performances.
Workshop details
The workshop is presented in Arabic over four days, with the participation of between 20 and 30 trainees who have knowledge of the principles of montage.
The workshop will be led by Egyptian film editor Ihab Gohar, who has more than 15 years of experience in the field of creative editing for films, advertisements and television programmes.
The most important main topics
The workshop will focus on main topics, including how to build scenes to stimulate the viewer’s feelings, confirm the narrative and visual meaning of the scene, in addition to learning about the best practices for preparing films for final showing. Participants will also have the opportunity to apply what they learn practically by implementing an applied project that reflects the acquired skills.
This workshop is a valuable opportunity for filmmakers in the Kingdom to develop their creative capabilities in the field of editing and achieve a qualitative leap in their cinematic productions.
