Medium to light rain in Abu Dhabi

Today, several areas in the capital, Abu Dhabi, witnessed moderate to light rain.
The National Center of Meteorology stated, in a statement today, that the areas of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street, the Corniche, and Al Maqta recorded light to moderate rain, while the areas of Al Mushrif, Airport Road, Khalifa City, Al Nouf, Al Qurm Street, and Sheikh Khalifa Street in the direction of Zayed Port, Al Rawda and Al Bateen Airport recorded light rain.
The Center confirmed that the country will continue to be affected by an extension of a surface depression from the southeast, coinciding with an extension of a depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere, accompanied by a cold air mass and an upper air current from the west, which leads to the development of cumulonimbus clouds in some areas.
The Center reported in its report yesterday that the weather condition will continue during the period from Monday, 23 to Thursday, December 26, 2024, when the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of rain falling at intervals, especially on the coastal areas, islands, and the northern and eastern regions of the country.
The report indicated that the winds will be southeasterly, turning to northeasterly and northwesterly, and will be light to moderate speed, but they may be active at times and stir up dust and dust on land. The sea is also expected to be light to medium waves, but it may be turbulent at times as clouds form in the Gulf. Arabian and Oman Sea.
The National Center of Meteorology renewed its call to the public to exercise caution while driving due to the possible decrease in horizontal visibility as a result of rain and dusty winds. It also advised to continuously follow official weather bulletins and reports.
The Center confirmed that the current weather condition falls within the usual winter climate patterns, and contributes to enhancing water reserves and supporting the ecosystem in the country.
