The Bahraini prosecution is trying 14 accused of spying for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard

The Attorney General, Head of the Terrorist Crimes Prosecution, in the Kingdom of Bahrain announced that the Public Prosecutor issued a decision to refer 14 defendants in four cases to the Criminal Court, including a number of fugitives in Iran, where they formed separate cells in three of these cases, including a female defendant in the fourth case.
The Public Prosecutor, Head of the Terrorist Crimes Prosecution, explained in a statement broadcast by the Bahraini News Agency that the Public Prosecutor ordered the referral of the accused after it was proven that they had committed crimes of seeking and communicating with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard with the aim of carrying out military and hostile acts against the Kingdom of Bahrain, and providing support to it in its hostile activities, in addition to receiving and delivering funds to support these operations, and one of them receiving military training in the Revolutionary Guard camps.
He said that the accusations included broadcasting information considered among the secrets of defending the state, and spreading false news and rumors with the aim of causing fear among citizens and residents, as well as promoting, glorifying and inciting hostilities against the Kingdom, in addition to monitoring and photographing a number of vital installations and sites and collecting information about them in preparation for targeting them, stressing that these defendants carried out the tasks assigned to them, and sent the pictures and information they obtained to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which used them to carry out its operations. Hostility against the Kingdom, during which it targeted buildings and facilities in Bahrain.
The Public Prosecution began its extensive and intensive interrogation and investigation of the defendants, some of whom admitted in detail what was attributed to them. It also listened to witness statements and ordered an examination of the technical devices used in committing the aforementioned incidents, which concluded that they had committed the crimes charged against them.
Based on what the investigations revealed and the findings of the investigations, the Public Prosecution ordered the detention of the accused and their referral to trial before the High Criminal Court.
