Mohammed bin Zayed University for Human Sciences launches the “Authentic Identity and Sustainable Legacy” initiative

Mohammed bin Zayed University of Human Sciences launched the “Authentic Identity and Sustainable Legacy” initiative, with the aim of enhancing awareness of Emirati heritage and linking it to the principles of cultural and social sustainability.

This step falls within the framework of the university’s strategy to support efforts aimed at protecting national identity across generations, which is in line with the UAE’s vision of preserving its authenticity and consolidating its cultural heritage.

The initiative included a series of interactive activities and programs aimed at enabling students to explore the Emirati national identity and understand its deep meanings. It included workshops on making Emirati coffee, during which the students learned about the traditions of preparing and serving coffee, and the authenticity of its roots in Emirati culture, to highlight generosity and achieve communication.

The university organized a training program on the art of falconry, which is considered a symbol of strength and courage, with the aim of reviving this traditional sport and transferring its knowledge and arts to new generations.

Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Director of Mohammed Bin Zayed University for the Humanities, said that the “Authentic Identity and Sustainable Legacy” initiative embodies the firm commitment of the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for the Humanities to its role in preserving the components of national identity and enhancing cultural sustainability efforts, by enabling young people to understand their role. In preserving heritage and transferring it to the future.

He added that the programs launched by the university within this initiative move national identity from a mere concept to a living and continuous experience, based on highlighting the authenticity of Emirati heritage and linking it to the principles of sustainability among students, and enhancing efforts to preserve Emirati identity and culture.

His Excellency stressed that the university’s various initiatives to enhance national identity come in line with the vision of the wise leadership to consolidate the components of heritage and pride in it, in addition to strengthening the position of the UAE as one of the most culturally developed countries in the world and having a positive impact on intercultural dialogue, and spreading the culture of peace, tolerance and the values ​​of coexistence.
