The Egyptian Embassy in Korea celebrates SIFTY winning the Best International Festival 2024 award
The Embassy of Egypt in Seoul hosted a special ceremony to celebrate the great achievement of the Sharm El Sheikh International Youth Theater Festival, which won the prestigious title of Best International Festival 2024 at the 2024 Korean Theater Awards.
The Korea Post reported: A statement by the Egyptian Ambassador Khaled Abdel Rahman, saying: “This honor is evidence of Egypt’s influential role in the global culture and arts sector, and is a result of the ongoing cultural cooperation between Egypt and Korea.”< /span>
In his speech, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to Mazen Al-Gharabawi, the festival’s founder and president, and Dr. Angie El-Bastawi, the general director, for their dedication to raising the festival to the level of global recognition over the past decade. He also extended his congratulations to all team members.
The ambassador stressed: "Thanks to their dedication, the festival has become recognized not only as a major event in Egypt, but also as an international cultural beacon.
Ambassador “Khaled Abdel Rahman” also highlighted Shedding light on the growing relationship between Egypt and Korea, pointing out the importance of cultural exchange in strengthening relations between the two countries.
He also pointed out that the year 2025 will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Korea, stressing that this important event represents an important opportunity to strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
He concluded his speech by saying: “This award goes beyond just honoring the festival itself, as it is very meaningful in reviving the rich culture and heritage of Egypt. We will continue to strive to strengthen cultural relations between Egypt and the Republic of Korea.”
The newspaper described the embassy’s celebration last evening as aiming to emphasize the common cultural values between Egypt and Korea, and to give it a glimpse into the bright future of this partnership, as the two countries continue to cooperate in various fields.
